The TIE card in Lanzarote

The TIE (Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero) is the photo card that every non-EU resident of Lanzarote should hold. It states your NIE, the type of residence you have been granted and how long it runs.

When the TIE applies

Any non-EU national staying in Spain beyond six months — for work, study, family or a non-lucrative life here — must obtain a TIE once the visa or residence authorisation is approved.

The fingerprint (toma de huellas) step

You book a "toma de huellas" appointment, turn up in person with your photos, the EX-17 and the paid fee, give your prints, and return for the card a few weeks on.

In Lanzarote

In Lanzarote, the the tie card is handled through Oficina de Extranjería de Lanzarote; our local team prepares your file and books the cita previa so it clears first time. We help clients from Teguise to Costa Teguise.
