The NIE is your identification number; the TIE is the physical residence card on which it appears. Anyone non-EU living here carries the TIE.
For any stay over 90 days, yes — student, work, family or non-lucrative. The visa is arranged at the Spanish consulate before you travel.
Within 30 days of landing on Lanzarote you book a fingerprint (toma de huellas) appointment, lodge the EX-17 with photos, and collect the card a few weeks on. We handle the booking and the paperwork.
